The SCAR Animal Health and Welfare Working Group (AH&W-WG) is pleased to announce the publication of two new documents on the topic of regulatory science for animal welfare.
R&I Analysis Report 'The Science-Policy Interface on Farm Animal Welfare in the EU: Regulatory Science for Animal Welfare'
This study was in collaboration with RefreSCAR and carried out by Ciska De Ruyver and Frank Tuyttens from the Institute for Agricultural and Fisheries Research, Belgium. The report examines how the EU science-policy interface on farm animal welfare currently operates and how it can be strengthened. It examines existing hubs, key enablers and barriers for the animal welfare science-policy interface, while also presenting policy recommendations.
Practice Brief - Regulatory Science for Animal Welfare
Building on the findings of the above R&I analysis report, this practice brief provides concise, actionable recommendations for researchers, policymakers, regulators and funders to strengthen regulatory science and enhance the impact of animal welfare research.
